Pre-Kindergarten-schooling

Pre-Kindergarten schooling will be discussed in an upcoming “Champions of Industry” segment with host Jimmy Johnson

Education has always been at the forefront of political and social debate.

One aspect of education which is especially important is pre-kindergarten schooling. Pre-kindergarten schooling is not daycare or glorified babysitting – it is a structured, planned endeavor to help create an educational and social leg-up for kids before they enter kindergarten.

The benefits of pre-kindergarten schooling are easily quantified, but when it comes to questions concerning how states pay for the schooling and what types of programs schools should offer, the issue becomes more complicated.

As national programs like Head Start attempt to provide funding to expand pre-kindergarten schooling and other public and private groups weigh in the on the costs and benefits, it becomes clear that the system for pre-kindergarten schooling still needs a lot of work.

In the Public Television program “Champions of Industry,” host Jimmy Johnson introduces experts that speak about this important and sometimes divisive issue – both the effects on education today and its future implications.

Champions of Industry is not associated with nor distributed to or through PBS.
